Getting started
Installation
Put the jar on your server, connect it to Jev, and see your first verdict.
jev-guard is one jar per game. It needs Java 25 and an account with one of the two places Jev runs: TypeSafe or Cloudflare.
Install the jar
Download it from the releases page.
| Game | Jar | Goes in | Config |
|---|---|---|---|
| Minecraft (Paper or Folia 26.2+) | jev-guard-paper-*.jar |
plugins/ |
plugins/jev-guard/config.yml |
| Hytale (server 0.6.8+) | jev-guard-hytale-*.jar |
mods/ |
mods/JevGuard_JevGuard/config.yml |
Start the server once. jev-guard writes its default config.yml and starts in
shadow mode, so it only logs what it would do.
Connect it to Jev
Set the credentials for one provider. Environment variables are the safest place for them, and they win over the file.
export TYPESAFE_API_KEY=ts_...export CLOUDFLARE_ACCOUNT_ID=...
export CLOUDFLARE_API_TOKEN=...If your host can’t set environment variables, put them in config.yml
instead. For Cloudflare, also set api.provider: cloudflare.
Check that it works
Run these as an admin:
/jevguard reload
/jevguard test you are trashtest shows the verdict and every category’s probability, for example
FLAG (confidence 0.98): harassment 100%, safe 0%, ....
If /jevguard status says moderation is off, the console says why. See
troubleshooting.
Next
Leave it in shadow mode for a few days and watch what it flags. The rollout guide walks through it.
